Hiroshige mapped Japan’s Tōkaidō road one stop at a time. This duo distills that same restlessness into two — a road still going, a tree that stayed.
The Tōkaidō Road prints (1833–34) turned a simple travel route between Edo and Kyoto into one of the most influential series in Japanese art — fifty-three stations, each print catching the road at a different season, a different hour, a different kind of rain. A single flowering tree earns its own tradition too: the architect Hundertwasser called the trees on his buildings ‘tenants,’ arguing their rent — oxygen, shade, a view worth more than money — entitled each one to room enough to be seen from more than one side.
This duo pairs both instincts in one soft palette of pink and green: a road that keeps moving, caught mid-bend toward a hilltop town, and a blossom tree that has already arrived, holding its ground on a quiet rise. The same gentle spring light settles over each.
Both Pastel Hills prints come as one set, the same size, ready to hang as a pair — 15% less than buying them separately.
A bedroom wall, a dining nook, or any pair of narrow spots wanting a matched, quiet moment — that’s where this duo settles in.
Available in 30×45 cm (12×18 in), 40×60 cm (16×24 in) and 60×90 cm (24×36 in) — both prints in the set come in the size you choose.
